Doing business in Rockland
Thank you so much for sending us your magazine. We have been in Rockland since the 1950's with great success but I feel its time for us to leave. I always thought the high taxes would be the nail in the coffin for us, but the Town of Stony Point is. They recently took one of the last remaining parcels in our Industrial Park and converted into a residential lot. A 55 and older condo will now be right on top of us. We are a lighting manufacturer that employs 40 to 50 people in a 33,000 square foot plant. I do not see how we can co-exist with close to 160 residents right next door.Your magazine tries to draw business to the County but it seems the Town, County and State are not on the same page. I have asked each for help to try and stop this development and no one seems to care.
Robert Riccardelli
President, Times Square Lighting
Stony Point, NYEditor’s note: We’ve heard similar stories from so many business people in the county that we’ve decided to do a follow up report on Mr. Riccardelli in our next issue. Look for his story next month.

Making a difference
Thank you for your profile of Meals on Wheels in your last Rockland Business Digest. We received a number of positive responses from the exposure. One of the responses was a phone call from a businessman who reads the magazine. He’s voiced an interest in sponsoring something at Meals on Wheels because of the article.I thought you’d want to know that your readers are getting your message. Thanks!

Exposure always helps
Last issue you ran an article by one of our engineers on streamlining operations through lean processes. Shortly after, one of your readers invited us to present our services to their organization. Thank you for the exposure of our ideas to your readership. People are obviously reading your magazine.Phyllis Levine
